Lehi Community Emergency Response Team would like to invite you to a planning meeting for a mock disaster that we would like to plan for September 2012. The disaster will be held in Lehi City and all surrounding Community Emergency Response Team’s will be invited to participate. The disaster will be centered on the response of multiple CERT teams coming together to use the training that we teach in our classes; incident command systems, light search and rescue, medical and START triage. Our event will allow our programs to evaluate our team’s performance, allowing us to help grow our strengths and recognize our weaknesses. The evaluation of this event will also allow for us to recognize the future leaders of our programs and provide better training in the future. This event will also be an asset to our fire and police departments to understand how our programs work and how they can best utilize us in the future. It is my intention to involve the leadership of our local surrounding city CERT teams to participate in the planning of this event. I would like to ask that each program put together a small group of two or three people that are part of their leadership to help in the planning process. The selected individuals will work with other groups to organize and plan the date, and mock disaster. There will be some cost involved with the use of the school property and some props we will be using. It is also my intention to find partners that are willing to share the in the cost of this event. All efforts will be put forth to keep this event as inexpensive as possible. I believe with the right partners in the planning of this event, we will be able to make this an event that will be hard to forget. I would like to get together and start planning for this event May 3rd @ 1800 hours at fire station 82 in Lehi (250 West 2600 North).
